David Scott, HBEM, Spacial Ecologist  

David joined the D&A team in the winter of 2022 and brings experience in ecology and GIS from a variety of organizations within Ontario. While completing his degree at Lakehead University, David discovered his passion for geomatics and completed specialized courses in Geospatial Theory and Applications, Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing. During his honours thesis he led a spatial wildlife habitat study in conjunction with the Central University of Ecuador to access populations of reintroduced Vicuna in alpine environments.  Since graduating he has gained experience in a variety of roles focusing on aquatic ecology, environmental assessment, and watercourse connectivity. David has developed technical expertise in using GIS tools such as ArcGIS 10, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, SAGA, and PostgreSQL. While working for the Canadian Wildlife Federation he assisted with the creation of the Canadian Aquatic Barriers Database (CABD), an open-source geospatial tool for assessing aquatic connectivity in Canada. David works with ecologists, landscape architects and the GIS team at D&A to create geospatial solutions for a variety of projects.
